Robotics By Design Lab, the first dedicated cross-disciplinary laboratory, created by the STRATE school of design in partnership with Korian, the Korian Foundation and several other partners, will start a thesis in collaboration with several establishments of the Korian group on the theme: How can AI and robotics improve the quality of working life of carers?
The Korian Foundation is a partner in the INSPIRE research project, launched at the initiative of the Gérontopôle de Toulouse, in order to identify and validate biomarkers of ageing.
4 of Korian clinics in the Occitanie region are participating in the constitution of cohorts by including patients in the system. They will also evaluate new rehabilitation models based on WHO recommendations aimed at maintaining the inherent capacities of patients identified as fragile (ICOPE program).
Launch of the study on the evaluation of executive impairment in nursing home residents. The objective is to design training courses for caregivers on the management of executive disorders as well as targeted support plans using non-drug therapies. The study will be conducted with the Gérontopôle Autonomie Longévité des Pays de la Loire and Gilles Berrut.
Operational start of the study on the evaluation of the added value of hypnosis in the care of patients with symptoms of pain, anxiety and sleep disorders, in partnership with the Syndicat National des Hypnothérapeutes (SNH).
Launch of the evaluation of the impact of the Passerelle Assist'Aidant association's support system on the quality of life of family carers and that of their families, whose loved one lives in a retirement home or at home. The Fondation Médéric Alzheimer will be the evaluator of the system.
Broadcast of the 2nd serie of Podcasts "La voix des aînés" entitled "Il était une fois les aidants"...
This year again, Sophie Pillods, producer of radio programmes, went to meet former caregivers who now live in nursing homes. They talked about their vocation, their passion for their profession and the difficult conditions in which they worked.
They began working after the war, a time when technology and medication were just beginning to develop. Similarly, biological analyses were carried out in hospital departments under conditions that today seem unprofessional.
September 2020 :
Restitution of the 4th European Barometer of Ageing Well devoted this year to the territories of Longevity.
Following the lead of the three previous ones, published in 2015, 2016 and 2018, the 4th European Barometer of the Korian Foundation for Ageing Well, carried out in partnership with IPSOS, aims to better understand and monitor the state of mind of older people in four European countries - in France, Germany, Italy and Belgium.
"Ageing well begins with an environment that adapts to the realities of people as they age. All too often, public policies, lack of thinking and the culture of the techno-all, do exactly the opposite. An adapting environment is thought of at the level of the actual living space, where exchange, civility, places of connection are most obvious, simple and shared."
Serge Guérin, sociologist, professor at Inseec SBE, President of the Scientific Council of the Korian Foundation for Ageing well
