The Korian Foundation for Ageing Well announces the arrival of Valérie Egloff, Stéphane Sanchez, Damien le Guay and Nelly Heraud to its Scientific Council, chaired by Serge Guérin. It is thus composed of 19 people.
"The Foundation's Scientific Council is strengthened with the arrival of four very different personalities. These involved actors will enrich our reflections in favour of ageing well. " says Serge Guerin.
Valérie Egloff, Normandy Regional Councillor responsible for the Silver Économie, combines her professional experience in hospital care and private practice with her experience as a municipal and inter-municipal councillor on the subjects of health and ageing. She has also been President of the Gérontopôle de Normandie since its creation in 2017.
Stéphane Sanchez, is a public health doctor and associate lecturer at universities. Stéphane Sanchez is a practitioner within the territorial public health and performance cluster of Champagne Sud Hospitals. He holds several positions within the same hospital, overseeing the research unit, the medical information service and the bio-statistical and epidemiological service. At the same time, Dr Sanchez Stéphane is involved in numerous population health projects with a specific focus on care pathways for the elderly. He has been working with the Korian Foundation for Ageing Well for 10 years now, where he coordinates the production and scientific valorisation of the work.
Damien le Guay, Philosopher, ethicist, is a specialist, in particular, in end-of-life issues, palliative care, funerals, mortuary rituals and spirituality. On these issues, he teaches at the ethical space of Ile-de-France and the ethical space of Picardy. In addition, he is a lecturer at HEC. Damien Le Guay is president of the CNEF (National Funeral Ethics Committee), and an expert with the CNOF (National Funeral Operations Council) run by the Ministry of the Interior. He is a member of the Board of Directors of the ASP-Fondatrice (palliative care) and a former member of the Scientific Committee of the SFAP - Palliative Care.
Nelly Heraud holds a PhD in science. In 2010, she became head of research for the Fontalvie group and then in 2015 for Groupe 5 Santé. Attached to training, she also teaches at the university for the STAPS - Adapted Physical Activity course since 2005. In 2020, she joined the Korian group as Research Director within the Health Research and Innovation Department with the aim of helping healthcare players to contribute to medical excellence and thus give patients the opportunity to benefit from innovative healthcare programmes.
In addition, the Korian Foundation has strengthened its research department with the appointment of Professor Gilles Berrut as Scientific Advisor to the Korian Foundation. In 2011, this expert in the field of the elderly founded the Gérontopôle Autonomie Pays de la Loire, a regional platform for economic development, research, training and advice dedicated to longevity and the demographic transition of an ageing population. A gerontologist, head of the Hospital-University Pole of Clinical Gerontology at Nantes University Hospital, University Professor, Hospital Practitioner, Gilles Berrut is also Vice-Dean for Continuing Education at the Nantes Faculty of Medicine.
